MEDICAL INITIATIVES
As a 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization, we have severe medical needs monthly. Aside from the standard vaccinations and spay/neuter needs that most of our rescues need, we very often have to take on many extreme medical cases. As our philosophy revolves around the fact that no dog is left behind, we commit to helping dogs even in the worst of conditions. These medical situations have ranged from broken bones after being hit by a car, to jaw reconstruction surgery from owner neglect following a bite from another dog, to organ failure or side effects from years of abuse and neglect in hoarding situations.
The surgeries we commit to, and the post-op rehabilitation, can cost upwards of $5,000 - $10,000 per dog after the procedure and hospitalization fees. Additionally, as we rescue many older dogs with dental issues, some of our rescues require extension tooth removal that can cost upwards of $3000 per dog in extreme cases.
